About Tim Woodson & The Heirs of Harmony

For over three decades, soulful music and Tim Woodson & The Heirs of Harmony have been inseparable. Since 1992, this powerhouse group has delivered unforgettable, heart-stirring Gospel music—captivating audiences worldwide with unmatched harmonies and electrifying stage presence. Twice nominated for the prestigious Stellar Award, they’ve become known as one of the most dynamic and inspiring acts in Gospel today.

At the helm is Tim Woodson, a former member of the legendary, three-time Grammy Award-winning group The Mighty Clouds of Joy. Tim reorganized The Heirs of Harmony as a tribute to his late father, Luke Woodson, who helped found the group in the 1950s. This personal legacy infuses every note with depth, history, and purpose, giving their music a timeless resonance.

The Heirs’ vocals are extraordinary—harmonies so precise and powerful they stir the soul, lift the spirit, and ignite hearts everywhere. Their songs speak to life’s valleys and victories, weaving traditional Gospel roots with fresh passion that bridges generations and cultures.

Their reach is global. From the United States to Europe, from sold-out crowds in Japan to standing ovations across East Asia, The Heirs of Harmony have left an indelible mark wherever they perform. They’ve graced stages alongside Gospel giants such as Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s, and Kirk Franklin. Their unforgettable performances have also lit up television screens on the B.E.T. Bobby Jones Gospel Show and other major platforms, touching millions of lives.

Along the way, the group has brought their magnetic presence to City Winery stages across the nation—prestigious venues in cultural hubs like New York, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Boston, and Philadelphia. Known for pairing world-class performances with an intimate, upscale concert experience, City Winery has hosted some of the biggest names in music. To perform on those stages is to stand among elite artists in a space where music, culture, and community converge—further cementing The Heirs’ reputation as a must-see act.

But The Heirs’ musical journey doesn’t stop at Gospel. The group has crossed genre boundaries, performing at mainstream secular events and headlining the RAWA Blues Festival in Katowice, Poland—the largest blues festival in the world. There, they’ve shared stages with music icons like Mavis Staples, Bobby Blue Bland, Denise LaSalle, Shirley Murdock, and the late Johnnie Taylor, Betty Wright, and Bobby Womack.

Whether performing in a grand opera house, a vibrant festival, a packed arena, an intimate church, or an elite venue like City Winery, Tim Woodson & The Heirs of Harmony deliver more than a performance—they deliver an experience. Their music transcends boundaries and touches the hearts of all who listen. This is more than a group; it’s a musical experience, a living legacy, and a long-awaited treasure in the world of Gospel and beyond.
